Tasha Orlova, born 1989, is a visual artist and photographer from Belarus currently based in Amsterdam.Tasha graduated in business management in St Petersburg. In 2014 she quit her job in a big international company and went traveling through Southeast Asia. After life-changing experience she came back home and decided to focus on her personal art projects.
In 2017 Tasha got to the Photography Department of the Royal Academy of Arts in the Hague and moved to the Netherlands. In 2018 she continued her studies in Gerrit Rietveld Academy, Amsterdam. Through her art projects and social media Tasha interact with her audience, brings them together for discussion or confront with questions. She explores such themes as female condition, gender roles, ageing and body perception to review and rethink social norms
Her project “My neighbours” was exhibited both in the Hague and Rotterdam (Jan-May 2018) and attracted a lot of attention in social media and newspapers both in the Netherlands and Belarus ( articles). Tasha got support for her project by the Awesome Foundation Rotterdam.
